Level 3

NCFE level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills

Foundation Counselling require learners to pass a level 2 certificate course for entry onto the level 3 Diploma. The level 3 Diploma focuses more on the theory within counselling and requires learners to participate in experiential learning and self-awareness exercises, along with skills practice sessions. Groups are likely to be fairly small consisting of no more than 12 learners. The course is 100 hours. Please contact the centre for dates and times of upcoming courses.

There are 5 units to cover within the level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills Course

  • Unit 01 - Developing counselling skills (T/502/8235)
  • Unit 02 - Theoretical approaches in the use of counselling skills (L/502/8239)
  • Unit 03 - Working ethically with counselling skills (K/502/8233)
  • Unit 04 - Counselling skills and diversity (L/502/8225)
  • Unit 05 - Counselling skills and personal development (L/502/8242)

This course is assessed through written work set after each lesson, and the writing of a reflective journal. There is also a practical element which requires you to carry out pair or group work to build on your self-awareness, along with skills practice sessions.

Students can progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, but this is not automatic.

The cost of the level 3 course is £925 if paid in full prior to the start of the course or £1010 if paid via our monthly payment plan.
