NCFE level 2 in Counselling Skills

The NCFE level 2 in counselling skills course is ideal for anyone who wants to start training as a counsellor or develop their self-awareness. There are no basic qualifications for entry onto this course. All of our courses require an interview to ensure that students understand the nature of the course and the level of commitment that it requires. The course consists of 100 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and has a credit value of 16, accommodating online and classroom-based learning whilst blending evening and weekend learning. Please contact the centre for dates and times of upcoming courses. Groups are likely to be fairly small consisting of no more than 12 learners ensuring an intimate learning environment with plenty of tutor support.

You will cover 4 units which are:

  • Unit 1 - Using Counselling Skills
  • Unit 2 - Counselling Theory
  • Unit 3 – Diversity and Ethics
  • Unit 4 – Personal Development

This course is assessed through written work set after each lesson and the writing of a reflective journal. There is also a practical element which requires you to carry out pair or group work to build on your self-awareness, along with skills practice sessions.

Students can progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills, but this is not automatic.

The cost of the course is £795 if paid in full or £850 if paid via our monthly payment plan.
